Photos from our May Socorro trip will be online soon!

Thank you! You've made my day...
When I posted this photo, my goal was to put Roca Partida on the map when Google Earth developed its alliance with Panoramio.com. My ulterior motive was to find another place online to tell people about one of my wonderful clients, the Solmar V. At the time I didn't know people could comment on the photos. Now I receive a message every couple of weeks telling me that someone has. I didn't think this was such a great photo, but sure do appreciate the comments people have left about it. Since I took this picture I've been back to Roca Partida on the Solmar V four more times. I guess the place is magical like one of the comments suggests. It keeps drawing me back.

Just Back From A Socorro Trip Aboard Solmar V
We just got back from my sixth trip aboard Solmar V, the fifth time to Socorro. We had an AMAZING trip, as always with giant mantas on every dive, 20-30 dolphins at Cabo Pearce, lots of sharks, big schools of skipjack & yellowtail, whale song underwater that was so loud it rattled our eardrums, and whale tail all the way home. To wrap up the trip we spent the last night dancing on the tables and pole dancing in the cage at El Squid Roe. We've got several of the photos posted on the Scuba & Underwater Photographers Meeup Group and have just posted a trip report on this site.

Galapagos / Amazon Trip Photos
We've just returned from the most AMAZING Galapagos trip ever! This was my fourth trip to the islands and it was better than the other three combined. We were fortunate to be aboard the Peter Hughes Sky Dancer on one of the last 10-day Galapagos trips allowed to any dive live-aboard there. We spent one day at Cousin's Rock and Bartolome where we found seahorse colonies, many turtles, sealions and schools of snappers. The penguins at Bartolome were out in force and performed for all the snorkelers. In two days at Wolf Island we had Galapagos sharks, schools of barracuda, 10 eagle rays that stayed with us through two dives, dolphins literally jumping into our panga, hundreds of hammerheads, and turtles lining up to be photographed.

In four days at Darwin we enjoyed 36 whaleshark sightings, thousands of hammerheads, friendly dolphins, thousands of the fattest tuna I've ever seen, and golden rays. Cabo Marshall delivered colder water, marbled rays and manta rays. The St. James land tour was full of marine iguanas, birds, sealions and too many other tourists. Our last day at Gordon Rocks satisfied the needs of the macro shooters with lots of colorful juveniles, nudibranchs, octopus and other critters.

Several of the group continued on to the Ecuadorian Amazon to visit the Napo Wildlife Center for a couple more days. This place was an unexpected surprise. The resort sits on Añangu Lake inside the Yasuní National Park and is owned and operated by local Quechua Indians who ensure that visitors have an outstanding wildlife and cultural experience while causing as little impact to the environment as possible.

Our complete trip report will be online someday. For now you can enjoy the photos.
